Large Scale Battle PvP
I looked through the thread of already proposed ideas, and after waaaay to much reading (also i kinda just scanned through them so, yeah...) i couldn't really find an idea that was really like this, so if its a repeat, my bad.
But I like the AB matches and RA and so on and so forth, but there isn't really anything like an all out battle, Fort Aspenwood gets pretty close with a storm the fortress kind of deal but there isnt really an all out battle without side objectives (capping shrines, ect). GvG gets really close, but its hard to find a guild that does it alot primarily for fun (many start out that way but then it gets dirty and its not fun anymore).
My proposal is, 12v12 or possibly even more, and have a small assortment of maps and there is plenty of NPCs (mainly warriors, rangers, and monks) with the only objective to push the enemy back. Maps would have high places for rangers and such, and maybe (very hard to find) secret passageways to sneak around an enemy flank, maybe have high ranking people to kill at the very back (like i said close to GvG) such as a general or somthing, but have just regular terrain maps (I think I saw PvPvE idea, but it didnt really sum up my idea though).
Certain maps could have certain bonuses (seige turtles, juggernaughts, catapaults, ect).
Winning conditions wouldnt be to kill the high ranking officials but it would give the attacker a moral boost and the defender some DP, but disbling ressurection shrines (you cant cap them, disabling them depends on how far your attacking line of advance is. Then when all the res shrines on one side are disabled, you just kill the remaining people (unless the MAJORITY resigns) and then you are declared the winner. And possibly add a line where if a defender passes it they are declared "retreated" and the battle ends for them (of course give a 5-10 second timer for an accidental crossing)
But mainly my idea is just to have an all out battle just with the objective to be like a real battle in ancient times, push the enemy back, kill them all, have them surrender, ect.
My writting of this idea is really sloppy and my apologies for that, especially if it clouds the point im trying to make. Also I know there is going to be millions of johny raincloud's that will say another type of PvP is just no good, but my answer to that is either put it into GW2 (not sure how that would work with the new styles there, havnt read too much on it), put it in way later in the game (as i have read that Anet will not be focusing as much on GW1 and there will most likely be no more campaigns for GW1), or just give it a chance as a lot of the fun PvP styles are not so fun anymore with people having to be r5 to get into most HA parties (not so hard you say, but it is when you have to get to r5 with most parties excluding you), GvG has mainly become for all sport, or its hard to find a guild that does it regularly just for fun.
As more I go on I see how sloppy I'm just slapping points onto the end of this topic, ill just leave it at that and hopfully you guys can add to the idea or just put it down.

First of all theres probably no way Anet would put this in GW1. However the type of thing you want sounds like the exact thing they are going to attempt to pull off in GW2.
World PvP.

The battle is on a larger scale, both in number of participants and duration, compared to PvP modes from Guild Wars 1.

I like the idea, but yeah...Not for GW1
I suppose you could play BF2 if you wanted to get your large-scale battle fix. 32v32 is frick'n intense. Or, play Warcraft III/Any RTS. thems is fun

ty mate, like I said I havn't read much about that part of GW2 (I've only read the lore)
and to the next guy about BF, hell yeah lol, but I can't find a game where its a large scale battle like that in old times (swords, shields, ect) with the exception of RTS's

I think this is an awesome idea. I've suggested it many times in-game, but have been too lazy to put it on guru. Although, with the 32v32, would the teams be random, or picked? Also, what about the party menu? How many groups, if any, and how many in each group if there are any. These are very few questions. XD
